She Came as a White Butterfly
When my Grandy passed away, my Grandpop sat next to a sliding glass door looking out. This might not have seemed so strange, but in the hot Florida heat the curtain was often drawn in the day to keep the house temperature regulated. My mom noticed Grandpop’s behavior and asked him what he was doing, and his response was, “She will come back as a white butterfly”
What he was doing is looking out at the world waiting for his love to give him a sign that she was there.
From that inspiration, I created this piece, “She Came as a White Butterfly”
